Terms of Service

The terms under which CV Analyzer is provided, what the service does and does not guarantee, how you may use it, and what happens to the content you submit. Last updated February 26th 2026.

What the Service Is

CV Analyzer is a web application that analyzes a CV against a job description and produces a cover letter and CV improvement suggestions. These terms govern your use of that service.

What it does

You upload a CV as a PDF and paste a job description. The service extracts the text, strips personal identifiers, and passes the anonymized professional content through three AI models - Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT-4, and Google Gemini - to produce a cover letter and a set of CV improvement notes. The cover letter is returned to your browser with your personal details reinserted locally. Nothing is stored on our servers after the session ends.

What it does not do

The service does not apply for jobs on your behalf, does not submit documents to employers, and does not guarantee any employment outcome. It produces a draft document based on the content you provide. What you do with that output is your decision.

Acceptance of these terms

Using the service constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

Acceptable Use

The service is provided for personal career use. Several uses are not permitted.

Permitted use

You may use the service to analyze your own CV against job descriptions you are genuinely considering applying for, to generate a cover letter for your own use, and to obtain suggestions for improving your own CV. You may use the output in job applications.

Prohibited use

You may not use the service to process third-party CVs without that person's knowledge and consent. You may not use the service to generate fraudulent professional documents, to misrepresent qualifications or experience not documented in the underlying CV, or to create materials intended to deceive an employer. Automated or programmatic use of the service - including scraping, bulk processing, or submitting requests via scripts rather than the web interface - is not permitted without written agreement.

Technical misuse

You may not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service infrastructure. You may not attempt to interfere with, overload, or disrupt the service. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer the AI pipeline, extract system prompts, or circumvent the PII redaction layer.

Your Content

You own the CV you upload and the output generated from it. We do not claim any rights over either.

Ownership of input

You retain full ownership of the CV and job description you submit. By submitting them, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process them for the sole purpose of delivering the analysis and cover letter to you. That license ends when your session ends.

Ownership of output

The cover letter and CV suggestions generated by the service are produced from your content and are for your use. We do not retain copies of the output. You may use, edit, and submit the cover letter without restriction.

Accuracy of submitted content

The quality and accuracy of the output depends on the accuracy of the CV you submit. The service generates a cover letter based on what the CV documents. If the CV contains inaccurate information, the output will reflect that inaccuracy. You are responsible for reviewing the output before using it.

AI-Generated Output

The cover letter and CV suggestions are produced by AI models. Understanding what that means in practice is relevant to how you use them.

Review before use

AI models can produce confident-sounding text that is factually incorrect, misleading, or poorly suited to a specific application context. The service is designed to reduce these failure modes through a multi-model review pipeline, but it does not eliminate them. You should read the output carefully before submitting it to an employer, edit it as needed, and take responsibility for the final version you send.

No guarantee of outcome

A cover letter generated by this service does not guarantee an interview, a job offer, or any employment outcome. Whether a cover letter is effective depends on many factors outside our control, including how a specific employer evaluates applications, what other candidates submitted, and decisions made by individual recruiters. We make no representation about the commercial value or effectiveness of the output.

Fabrication and hallucination

The service is instructed to anchor every claim in the cover letter to content documented in your CV, and the output is checked against the source document before delivery. However, AI models can introduce errors, misrepresent seniority, or add qualifiers not present in the original. Check the output against your CV before sending it. Do not submit a cover letter that claims experience, tools, or responsibilities not present in your actual professional history.

Intellectual Property

The service and its codebase, design, and prompts are proprietary. Your content is not.

Service IP

The web application, its source code, design system, AI prompt architecture, and processing pipeline are the intellectual property of CV Analyzer. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute any part of the service or its source code without written permission.

Your IP

Your CV and the cover letter generated from it are yours. We claim no intellectual property in either. The temporary processing license described under "Your Content" above is limited to delivering the service and ends when the session ends.

Liability and Warranties

The service is provided as-is. The section below sets out what we are and are not liable for.

No warranty

The service is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be available at all times, that the output will be error-free, that the output will be suitable for any particular job application, or that use of the output will produce any specific result. The service may be unavailable during maintenance or due to failures in third-party AI provider infrastructure.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CV Analyzer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of - or inability to use - the service. This includes loss of employment opportunity, reputational damage resulting from a submitted cover letter, or data loss. Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Third-party services

The service integrates with AI APIs operated by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. We are not responsible for failures, changes in behavior, or data handling practices of those providers. If a provider changes its API in a way that affects service output or availability, we will work to restore correct behavior, but we are not liable for disruptions caused by changes outside our control.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated when the service changes in ways that affect them. What constitutes a material change and how notice is provided is described below.

How changes are communicated

Material changes - those that alter your rights, affect how your data is processed, or change the scope of permitted or prohibited use - will be posted on this page with an updated date. The date at the top of this page is the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not accept a revision, stop using the service.

Contact

Questions about these terms, requests related to data handling, or reports of misuse can be submitted through the support channel on our website. We will respond within a reasonable time.
